Fundraising Ideas for Leagues

With a league organisation already established, it is surprisingly easy to raise large sums of money with so little effort.

Below, we have listed a few popular ideas which have proved very successful in our previous events, and we encourage you to help us to help Hearing Dogs.

At your presentation exhibition, we will endeavour to bring along a working hearing dog, so that everyone can see what the money goes towards.

League Fundraising Idea 1 - Increasing Registration Fees **

  • Increase Registration Fees by £1 and your presentation night exhibition is sorted*!
    • As most leagues have several dozens of players at least with many going into the hundreds or even thousands, this simple way can raise a large sum of money in an instant.

Simply by increasing the registration fees by £1 and pledging that pound to charity, this would take away the need to pay for an exhibition at the end of the season’s presentation night*.

Simple, effective and a way to help charity!

If you find that you do not have enough players to reach the target, don’t worry - there are plenty of ways the balance can be raised.

Included in their registration fee would be an invite to the season end's presentation and exhibition.

  • League Fundraising Idea 2 - Raffle/Auction a Pool Table

  • Raffle or Auction a pool table to reach your target
    • This unique idea was used by a League as an incentive for the players, their family and friends to sell raffle tickets.

As an example, you are aiming for an exhibition and table and your target is £1,420.

You have 600 players in your league, and through the £1 Registration fee you have already accumulated £600 which leaves £821 to raise. The balance can be raised through selling tickets.

  • Fundraising Idea 3 - Pub-Tournament Income Generator **

  • Host tournaments with your league pubs. Winners go forward to play against the professional!
    • Let’s say, our target is £1,250.

      25 Frames Available - Select 25 pubs.

Ask each pub to pledge £40 each and host a Charity Tournament.

Each pub to ask for a £3 donation to enter the Charity Tournament. All they need is 13 players and they’ve basically raised the £40. (It is at the landlord’s discretion to ask for whatever donation they see fit.

The winner of the Charity Tournament from each pub goes forward to play the professional at the presentation exhibition!

      Bingo - £1,250 Raised! It's that simple!

  • Fundraising Idea 4 - Collection Tins

  • A little, from each pub, goes a long way...
    • Collection tins generally collect loose change, but when there are a number of pubs, this soon adds up!

We can send you a specified number of application forms for you to send on to each pub. Each pub can then fill them in and send it directly back to us and we will arrange for the collection tins to be sent directly to the venue.

The funds accumulated throughout the venues will go towards your fundraising target.

  • Fundraising Idea 5 - Pub Sponsorship Competition/Target Splitter

  • Encourage the league’s registered pubs to fundraise!
    • Once you’'ve determined your fundraising target, divide the total by the amount of pubs your league has, and encourage them to raise at least that amount.

It is an easy and efficient way to fundraise and spreads the task out evenly.

It also raises awareness and the profile of Hearing Dogs.

  • Fundraising Idea 6 - Adopt a Charity

  • Select Hearing Dogs as your League’s chosen charity...
    • By adopting Hearing Dogs for Deaf People as your League’s chosen charity, perhaps everyone connected can be persuaded to do the same, and collectively, all funds raised through various fundraising activities and collections can go into one pot?

It is not always about raising funds, but raising the profile - Hearing Dogs have been around for over a quarter of a century, but there's still an amazing number of people who don’t realise they exist, nor know of the difference they make to deaf people.

*Dependent upon the number of registered players
