What do I do if I don't want to host an event, but instead want make a donation to charity?

What happens if I’m at an event, and would like to make a sizable donation but would like that donation to go towards meeting the fundraising target of another event?
A donation cannot be accepted at a particular event to go towards a separate event. A new event would have to be arranged, then the donation can count towards the fundraising target of that event.
